LiveSwap.ai runs two named, commercial-grade AI models, X-Max 2.1 and Lucy 2.6, that outperform open-source local face swap. You choose one before each session and see its rate per second. X-Max 2.1 costs about $0.26 to $0.75 per minute depending on your plan; Lucy 2.6, the higher-quality model, about $1.58 to $4.50 per minute. Prices checked on November 3, 2026.

Both are closed, commercial models run on their makers' servers; LiveSwap.ai connects your camera to them. Which provider receives your stream, and their policies, are listed in the privacy policy.

Why commercial models look better

LiveSwap.ai runs commercial, closed models, and they beat open-source local face swap. The reasons are plain:

  • Built and improved by specialist teams. X-Max 2.1 and Lucy 2.6 come from AI companies that focus on real-time video generation. They keep updating them and run them on data-center GPUs, so your own graphics card is not the limit.
  • Open-source tools hit a ceiling. The inswapper_128 model that open-source live face swap commonly relies on works on a 128×128-pixel face, and its license is limited to non-commercial research (see the Deep-Live-Cam README).
  • More than face swap. The same commercial models also restyle your camera and do virtual try-on (Lucy VTON 3.6), which open-source face swap tools do not.

Why we tell you the model

Many services describe an "AI engine" without naming it. We show the model and its rate before you press start, so you know who processes your video, can pick quality or price per session, and know exactly what each second costs.

A one-time month costs the same as the monthly plan and does not renew. Full details and checkout are on the pricing page; the prices there are the ones you pay.

For reference, liveswap.io, a separate product with a similar name, lists about $0.73 to $0.83 per minute on its plans. On X-Max 2.1, LiveSwap.ai gives more minutes for the same money; Lucy 2.6 costs more. LiveSwap.ai vs liveswap.io

How billing by the second works

  1. When you press start, the session reserves time from your balance.
  2. Credits are charged per second of generation at the model's rate.
  3. When the session ends, unused reserved credits come back.
  4. If your balance or the session limit runs out, generation stops on its own. You are never charged beyond your balance.

On the web a session lasts up to 5 minutes; start again to continue. The desktop app can continue automatically. Camera preview alone is free.

Free credits

New accounts get 30 free credits, one grant per IP address: about one minute on X-Max 2.1, or one 10-second session on Lucy 2.6. Try it now.
