Which cameras work
Any camera your browser can open works: a laptop webcam, a USB webcam, a capture card, or a phone that shows up as a camera (such as Continuity Camera on a Mac).
720p is enough. Even light on your face matters more than extra pixels.
Set up your webcam for face swap
Two minutes of setup gives the model a clear view of your face.
- Put the camera at eye level, about an arm’s length away.
- Light your face from the front. A window behind you makes your face too dark.
- Keep your whole face in view, and only one person in the frame.
- Close other apps that use the camera, such as Zoom or Teams.
Webcam face swap questions
Why can’t the page open my camera?
Usually the browser blocked camera access, or another app is using the camera. Allow the camera in your browser’s site settings. On a Mac, also check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera for your browser.
Is my webcam video uploaded during the check?
No. The check runs on your device. Video is only sent to the model provider after you press Start in the studio.
What webcam resolution do I need?
720p is enough. Good front light and a steady camera improve the result more than 1080p or 4K.
Can I use an external USB webcam?
Yes. Plug it in, then choose it in the camera list here or in the studio.
Can I use my phone as the webcam?
Yes, if the phone appears as a camera in your browser, for example Continuity Camera on a Mac or a webcam app that installs a camera driver.
